Art City
Knokke-Heist has always had a passion for beauty: a nicely dressed plate in a Michelin-starred restaurant, a stylish window display in a flagship store of a well-known fashion brand, a nicely mixed exotic long drink in one of the beach bars, the leap of Flanagan's 'hare' as the sunsets or the glass of sparkling wine served during the open house days of the galleries (ART Knokke-Heist).
Artworks. Art views.
This is an overview of the art that is exhibited in public spaces in Knokke-Heist. Visual artworks made of traditional materials such as granite and bronze as well as more recently developed materials such as synthetic resin or reflective stainless steel.
These are statues as well as cityscapes. Knokke-Heist's heritage includes public squares which have been designed by architects in a collaboration with visual artists.
Visual art owned by the town or loaned by the owner, or art works on private property, which can be seen from the roadside.
Discovering each of these unique artworks is a pleasant way of exploring the art city of Knokke-Heist.
