Dir. Generaal Willemspark

This 10-hectare park is better known locally as ‘the Heist wood’.  The Willems Park with the dune wood in the south and the dunes in the north is an important link in the green belt formed by the Jozef Stübben Park, Park 58 and the planned urban fringe wood.

The first phase of the renewal operation of the park has been achieved: old trees were removed and replaced by new vegetation, and the two ponds were removed to make space for a new pond with natural banks. As part of the development of facilities for recreation and nature education, a play landscape and educational area has been constructed for our youngest visitors.
