HERE COMES THE SUN
The Easter holidays are in sight – which, let's be honest, we have been looking forward to for a while!
Easter is reminiscent of eating too many Easter eggs during a long brunch, preparing a beach bag with some sunscreen in it already, and enjoying a well-deserved cocktail at one of Knokke-Heist's many beach bars.
We all feel it, spring is here. We have more energy and less space in our diaries, because with that extra vitamin D we can get back up to full speed!
Below, we introduce you to the activities that Knokke-Heist has lined up for you this Easter.

Photography is indelibly linked to Knokke-Heist.
Foto Knokke-Heist brings in a unique range of original projects that are just that little bit different.
Over the past two decades, Frieke Janssens has built up a solid reputation at home and abroad with her striking staged photography.
Servaas Van Belle prefers to photograph things that cannot talk. He goes on his own in search of interesting shapes, objects and colours in the landscape, of sculptures with a story, and of landscapes with a complex character.
Both projects will be presented to the general public for the first time in Knokke-Heist.

ACTIVITY-PACKED HOLIDAYS
COLD WATER CLASSIC
The starting pistol has been fired for the new water sports season! During this 4-star competition on 2 and 3 April 2022, wakeboarders at Lakeside Paradise can score points to qualify for the European Championship or World Cup.
In the stands along the waterfront you can enjoy the impressive manoeuvres on the cableways as well as entertainment from an MC and a DJ.
KLASSIEK LEEFT JONG
With Klassiek Leeft Jong , we are presenting another beautiful series of classical music concerts this spring. Curator Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort has taken great care and passion to put together an exciting programme.
The concerts will take place from 6 to 8 April 2022 in the Sint-Niklaaskerk church in Westkapelle. These special concerts will be performed by young, classically trained musicians who are showing exceptional talent at a young age.
ART NO. 32
On 2 and 3 April 2022, art will be in the spotlight and art lovers can enjoy an artistic experience.
ART Knokke-Heist is an open gallery weekend that aims to make art accessible to everyone. The gallery owners will welcome you with open arms, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
GUIDED BIKE TOUR: THE VANISHED ZWIN HARBOURS
Take a guided cycle tour along roads that in the Middle Ages were connected to the wide Zwingeul. At various points on the journey, you will come across outdoor VR headsets. By putting on these headsets, you will be transported to bustling medieval harbour towns. The guide will tell you more about archaeological finds along the route.
The guided bike tour takes place every Wednesday and Friday at 1:30 pm. The tour is about 40 km long, takes three and a half hours, and starts at the Knokke Tourist Office (Zeedijk 660).
Price: €9 per person.

ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
BUZZING AROUND
Families with young children between the ages of 0 and 6 can take part in the Buzzing Around Tour. It is a one-kilometre educational walk that starts and ends at the Knokke Tourist Office.
Each child is given a bee crown and a booklet with stickers at the start. During the walk, the children carry out assignments based on the accompanying book. These assignments are found on window stickers at local shops, in public places and while walking.

EASTER GRAB IN THE SCHARPOORD GARDEN
This Easter Grab is a long-running tradition organised by Knokke-Heist Youth Council, in conjunction with the Knokke Family Association.
On Easter Saturday, children up to the age of 12 can enjoy themselves on the bouncy castles and meet the Easter bunny. There’ll be no shortage of Easter eggs either! For toddlers, a separate field will again be provided where parents can egg on their little treasures.
SPRING IN HET ZWIN
During the spring, enthusiastic Zwin guides will welcome you to the viewing cabin with a telescope, introduce you to the world of freshwater animals and teach you all about the different types of eggs!
For the youngest investigators, there is an egg hunt with a nice surprise at the end. During the hunt, the children can listen to the story of Skipper and the Caterpillar or make beautiful plant labels themselves.

Beach please
When you cycle along the seaside, you will see the beach full of life again with the beautiful white cabins and lively beach bars whose staff will greet you with a wide smile.
Once again, we can take a relaxed walk barefoot on the beach with the sand between our toes, play a game of petanque, sell beach flowers and enjoy melting ice creams.
The smell of sunscreen is already in the air. Yeah, it's the holidays all right!

Book your trip to Knokke-Heist in advance, get your hair done and buy a brand new outfit in your favourite shop. Because from Friday 6 May to Sunday 15 May 2022, fashion will be the focus during the third edition of the Shopping Week.
