A new coronavirus (Covid-19) was identified in China at the end of last year. The virus has now also reached Belgium. In Knokke-Heist, elderly residents remain active well into old age, with numerous activities and groups meaning they have busy social lives. As a bustling, cosmopolitan and international municipality, we take measures to protect the health of our residents, second home-owners and visitors wherever possible.

In order to prevent further spread of the coronavirus, several activities will be cancelled.

  • All activities, both internal and external, will be cancelled until 19 April.

  • Until further notice we do not organise any activities of our own. Everything will be postponed or cancelled - as decided on the municipal college on 20 March. If you have purchased tickets for municipal activities and events, you will be contacted and offered a refund.

  • Depending on what the federal government and the muncipal college decide, clubs and associations could rent rooms again after 19 April.

All attractions, sports centres, cultural centres, youth centres, watersports centres, beach bars, cinemas, libraries, museums, sports clubs, youth clubs and other societies and clubs, churches and government institutions are closing with immediate effect.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon, to enjoy everything we have to offer for tourists.
