Koningsbos

Boslaan

The municipal wood, better known locally as ‘t Sparrenbos (the fir tree wood), was rechristened Koningsbos (the King’s Wood) on the occasion of the 25-year jubilee of King Baldwin’s reign. The wood covers a ridge of the Blinckaert dunes, a high dune ridge that reflects the sunlight, and is therefore locally called the ‘blinker’ or ‘blekker’. The central part of this dune wood undulates considerably due to the many dune ridges and valleys. An ideal exploration site for kids, and a perfect trail for mountain-bikers.
