Heads / Lemurs - Franz West

About the artwork

Rubensplein currently features two cylindrical buildings acting as pillars, topped by five-metre-tall heads designed by West. These are very physical-looking heads, shapes carved from primary mass somewhat reminiscent of Carnival figures. They are made of a synthetic resin to withstand the harsh sea climate, storms, sand erosion and bright light.
